Danny Robinson had rung the changes after the previous weekends defeat at Plymouth Parkway. The home side started well but despite a lot of possession did not really create much in the final third. Elis Watts, Fabio Lopes & Sam De St Criox all had long range efforts in the first 20 minutes but there was nothing to trouble Conor Brann the Swindon Supermarine keeper.
The deadlock was broken in the 28th minute when a loose ball was seized upon by the dangerous Supermarine striker David Simms-Burgress who broke the offside trap and rifled a volley past Hungerford keeper Nick Harvey. The half then settled back into the pattern of Hungerford pressing but failing in the final third to create the killer chance.
This pattern had to change in the second half and it did. Conor McDonagh scored an equaliser from the spot immediately after the restart after a Swindon Supermarine defender handled in the box. 25 for the season now for McDonagh This goal was closely followed by Fabio lopes hitting the crossbar with a shot from range.
Then against the run of play on 70 minutes Supermarine broke from a quickly taken free kick, which was allowed despite the referee holding up Hungerford players trying to get back, Sam Turl broke free down the right and Levi Irving converted the cross with a diving header
As the game seemed to be drawing to close, Lopes took the ball in the box and found Watts free on the left and his shot was too good for Brann.
Deep into injury time Fabio Lopes broke Supermarine hearts with the winner driving past the hapless Brann at his near post from the right hand side of the box.Hungerford never knowing when to give up especially at Bulpit Lane.
