The home side almost opened the scoring immediately when Baboucarr Jarra headed a corner narrowly wide in the first minute
Midway through the half the visitors took the lead from a corner. Hungerford keeper Ryan Clarke had initially pushed away a goal bound effort but his saved looped onto the bar and was ceased upon by an unmarked Riccardo German who headed home from a yard out.
The rest of the half was scrappy and a stop start affair with neither side showing great quality. Hungerford came close just before the break when Rhys Tyler fired wide but it was the generals the lead at the break
The second half was much the same as the first. Ramarni Medford-Smith came close hitting the outside of the post with a glancing header early on. The game however continued in much the same vain as the first half provided. towards the end Conor McDonagh almost equalized when his shot from outside the box was deflected wide with keeper Zakii Oualah beaten
In the end though it was German’s goal that separated the sides Chesham taking the half chance they had while Hungerford squandered theirs a frustrating afternoon for the Crusaders
