Commercial Manager Position Overview
Hungerford Town FC is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Commercial Manager to spearhead the club’s revenuecgrowth and corporate engagement. As the club embarks on a new project at step four in the non-league pyramid, this role is pivotal in ensuring our financial infrastructure matches our on-pitch ambition.
The successful candidate will be a sophisticated negotiator and a natural relationship builder, acting as the primary bridge between the club and the regional business community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Acquisition: Identify, pitch, and secure high-value corporate partnerships, including stadium naming rights, kit sponsorship, and stand branding.
Inventory Maximisation: Manage and monetise the club’s full suite of commercial assets, from traditional pitch-side advertising boards and matchday programme space to emerging digital sponsorship opportunities.
Corporate Hospitality & Events: Oversee the commercial success of the hospitality suite, ensuring a premium matchday experience that drives repeat bookings and long-term partner loyalty.
B2B Networking: Act as a senior ambassador for the club within the West Berkshire and M4 corridor business communities, attending networking events to elevate the clubs brand profile.
Account Management: Maintain meticulous records of partner agreements, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and fostering a culture of "high-touch" client retention.
The Ideal Profile
The "Non-League" Spirit: You possess an authentic passion for non-league football. You understand the unique grit, community importance, and "all hands-on deck" environment that makes a club like Hungerford Town special.
Commercial Acumen: A proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or sports marketing. You arecomfortable discussing ROI and brand alignment with Managing Directors and local business owners.
Professional Presence: You are an articulate and persuasive communicator, capable of representing the club with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
Self-Motivation: As this is a performance-driven role, you must be a disciplined self-starter with the ability tomanage a sales pipeline from initial lead to signed contract.
Package & Flexibility
This is a commission-based position, offering uncapped earning potential for a high-performing individual. The commission percentage is negotiable and will be established based on the candidate’s experience and the nature of the revenue streams secured. While the role offers significant flexibility, a regular presence on matchdays at Bulpit Lane is desired to host partners and oversee commercial activations.
