In the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday, table-toppers Ardley United were 1-0 down to Abingdon....

....Town at the break after Corey Forbes hit the back of the net on the 12th minute, but two goals in 4 minutes at the start of the second half from Ryan Brooks and Stuart Bridges ensured the win and a six-point lead for the hosts.

Ascot United and Slimbridge shared the points and four goals after Jon Bennett opened for the Yellamen, Marvin Roberts and Carl Nash replied for the Swans and then Lee Boon closed for the home side.

Struggling Henley Town went down to a disputed penalty against Kidlington. Mark Baker put Kiddy in front after 25 minutes but David Hoar equalised 10 minutes later. However, Danny Leggett’s second half spot-kick separated the two sides.

Holyport recorded their sixth straight defeat after going down to the only goal of the game when Josh Parsons converted a 90th minute penalty for Highworth Town.

Thame United extended their unbeaten run to six after defeating Witney Town by 3-1.

Ashley Overton gave the Blanketmen a half-time lead, but the Red Kites came back strongly after the interval with goals from Alex Stewart, Dan West and Aaron Rogers.

Wokingham & Emmbrook lost to Shrivenham by the odd goal in three.

Mark Stevens put Shrivvy in front on the half-hour, Tom Hopper equalised shortly after the break but Kyle Rigley hit what turned out to be the winner 10 minutes later for a welcome three points for John Fisher’s side.

In Division One West, lowly Carterton eased their relegation worries with a fine win over Purton.

In a 7-minute spell after the interval, Chris Mills put the Kilkenny Lane outfit in front, Tom Cadden equalised, but Adam Lee hit the winner to earn three very welcome points.

Cricklade Town went behind right on the half-time whistle when Josh Skeates netted for New College Swindon. However, a Ben Carter hat-trick in the second period made certain of the victory for Crick.

Easington Sports were down to an Ethan Delaney effort for the in-form Wootton Bassett Town, but rescued a point when James Hastie equalised on the hour.

Headington Amateurs scored a goal in each half through Liam Morbey and Craig Dean to take the points in their encounter with Lydney Town.

Hook Norton were only just beaten by One West leaders, Tytherington Rocks when Jack Smyth scored the only goal of the game shortly before the break.

The Rocks have now won seven times on the bounce to show their title credentials.

Basement outfit Trowbridge Town recorded their first win of the season when Jordan Kirk hit the target in the 77th minute with the only goal of the game against Clanfield.

Winterbourne United and Malmesbury Victoria were separated by a Ben Dowdell strike with 10 minutes left on the clock.

In Division One East, Abingdon United Reserves were overrun by new leaders Thatcham Town Reserves, shipping five without reply, courtesy of a Shaun Thorp four-timer and one from George Stirlane.

Chalfont Wasps won easily against struggling Hungerford Town Reserves thanks to goals from Fred Tripp with a brace and Alex Feaver.

Richard Jewell opened the scoring for Chinnor against Maidenhead United after 18 minutes and Tom Folley doubled it midway through the second period.

Michael Pearce grabbed one back for the Magpies shortly after but it was not enough to affect the outcome.

Penn & Tylers Green were knocked off the top spot at Finchampstead after losing an entertaining encounter by the odd goal in five.

Liam Ratcliffe netted for Penn after 10 minutes, Martin Dixon and Richard Kell then gave the Finches the advantage before the break.

Jamie Hunt then equalised for Penn with 10 minutes remaining, but Gavin Rolls hit the winning goal shortly after.

Highmoor Ibis and Letcombe shared the points and six goals, with Ian Griffin, Anthony Alleyne and Devonn Reid scoring for the Reading-based outfit and Pete Horswell, Mark Rees and Paul Jezzard replying for the visitors.

Lambourn Sports were too strong for strugglers Didcot Town Reserves, scoring five times through Steve Rackham, Ben Matthews, Keenan Dundas and Matt Pedder with two, with Louis Howell and Harry Halls managing consolation strikes for the hapless visitors.

Woodley Town only just scraped past table-proppers Milton United when Danny Isaiew hit the target shortly after the break with the only goal of the game.
