So what’s in a start? We take a closer inspection of the first few matches

League sponsors Vanarama have been busy assessing the season so far - and what’s to come!

So what’s the story so far…
It’s been tough, but it’s nothing that wasn’t expected. The Vanarama National League South seems to get more challenging every season.

How does it compare to this time last year?
Well, the Crusaders have more points of the board - and they haven’t been hit for six like when Chelmsford City came to town! Taking a while to get going doesn’t faze Ian Herring.

What does the manager think?
He’s calm, as expected. Nothing is ever sorted inside the first fortnight. Defeats to fancied sides Bath City, Maidstone United and Hemel Hempstead won’t change his outlook.

Stat’s life!
League position: 18th
Home goals for: 2
Away goals for: 2
Home goals against: 3
Away goals against: 6

Next up…
It’s Chippenham Town at home. The Load The Lane campaign should see a big crowd as the Bluebirds come down the M4.

Their one to watch….
Nat Jarvis is already alive and scoring for the season. Hungerford fans know all about what he can do.

We’ve met before….
It was home joy for Chippenham as Nat Jarvis scored twice in a 3-1 win, but at the Lane Hungerford edged it 2-1.
