Newbury schools celebrate successful season.

Good news for Hungerford Town youth set up with the Park House School winning five different football trophies in competitions for various age groups.

A Newbury school is celebrating its most successful football season ever after winning five different trophies.
Park House School won four of out of five district football competitions for different age groups, while the Year 10 team won the County Cup as well.
The Andover Road school, which defeated St Bartholomew’s School, Newbury, in three different district finals, at under 12, under 13 and 14 level, also defeated Kennet School, Thatcham, 5-4 on penalties in the under 15 final after the scores were level at one-all after extra time.
The Year 11 final, however, was won by John O’Gaunt Community Technology College, Hungerford, which defeated Park House School in the last minute of extra time in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Park House School’s under 15 team was also crowned Berkshire County Schools Champions after they defeated Windsor Boys School 4-1 in the final, while the school’s under 14s were Berkshire County Schools semi-finalists, losing to the eventual winners, John Madejski Academy.
Head of PE at Park House School, Richard Jones, said: “It has been a long season and this is just reward for all the hard work that has been put in.
“Other schools have previously managed to get four of their teams into the five age group finals, but no school has ever won every final they played.
“We will just have to go one better next year and win all five.”
The school’s headteacher, Derek Peaple, said this was an unprecedented achievement and said the school was really proud of all the boys and coaching staff.

This is great news for local Hungerford Youth set up hopefully attracting youngster into their teams and also for the new "A Team" managed by Martin Crane giving children that stepping stone into adult football.
