HISTORY
Wimborne Town Football Club, founded in 1878, is one of the oldest non-league football clubs in England, with a rich heritage rooted in Dorset. They joined the Western League Division One in 1981–82. Moved to the Wessex League in 1987, where they enjoyed significant success. The club plays at the Wyatt Homes Stadium in Wimborne Minster, with a capacity of around 3,250.
LAST SEASON
This fixture last season ended in a 1-1 draw Kyle Tooze grabbing our goal which was cancelled out by a late Will Fletcher strike.
FORM
Wimborne started this month with a bang, beating Chertsey 4-1! It was there 4th victory in a row in an impressive run of form.
DANGER MAN
That man Will Fletcher has an annoying habit of scoring against Hungerford so will be looking to keep that going. Joe Smith has also been in the goal and is an exciting prospect.
NEWS FOR HUNGERFORD
The three new signings over the last week will look to improve our form. Of course the big talking point is Charlie Austin and will he add to his dozen goals back in 2008 for the club.
DID YOU KNOW
Wimborne blends ancient heritage with cozy village vibes, making it a perfect spot for history lovers, perhaps I should take a longer visit! - Wimborne is home to a 1950s model town, a charming scaled-down replica complete with tiny shops and homes. Wimborne is also the resting place of Montague Druitt Barrister and teacher, controversially suspected by some historians to be Jack the Ripper.
