HISTORY
Gosport Borough FC was founded in 1944 and has evolved from a local athletic club into a team competing in the Southern League Premier Division South
After decades in the Hampshire League, they won back-to-back titles in 1976–77 and 1977–78, earning promotion to the Southern League
Promoted to the Conference South in 2012–13 after playoff victories. Reached the FA Trophy final in 2013–14, finishing as runners-up—a major highlight.
LAST SEASON
A narrow 1-0 defeat for the Crusaders at Gosport last term but Gosport has not been a happy hunting ground recently for Hungerford.
FORM
After superb back to back away wins over Chertsey & Weymouth, Gosport went out of the FA trophy 3-2 at home to Plymouth Parkway. Outside of the cups however they have not lost in the league since August.
DANGER MAN
Ex Hungerford striker Rafa Ramos has been in the goals this season. We all know what a dangerous player he can be with an eye for a goal. Ethan Taylor is another player to keep a watch on.
NEWS FOR HUNGERFORD
After shipping "those goals" last week, the team got back to winning ways in my favourite competition on Tuesday night, the Berks & Bucks Cup. With a last minute James Ollis strike to win the game against Reading City.
DID YOU KNOW
Gosport probably has more boats than people, lets hope we don't get sunk! - Gosport has one of the largest marinas in the UK, making it a hotspot for budding Ben Ansile. - Legend has it that King Stephen named the town after being saved from a storm, calling it “God’s Port.” which is a shame for those Matilda supporters, like me, who studied the English Anarchy! Roger Black is probably the most famous person with Gosport ties he was Olympic silver medallist in the 400m back in 1996, almost as good a runner as Shep!
