BRIEF HISTORY
One Man had a dream and it seems that man was Thomas H. Coleman. He wrote to a local newspaper in 1883 asking why the city had no Association football team. That was the start of Gloucester football. The name Gloucester City being adopted in 1902. In more recent times severe flooding in 2007 destroyed their Meadow Park ground, forcing the club into a long period of ground‑sharing exile. After more than a decade away, the club finally returned to a rebuilt ground in 2020.
LAST SEASON
We were defeated 2-1. The game is mostly remembered for a wonderous solo goal by Ellis Watts for us, I wonder what happened to him?
GLOUCESTER FORM
A great result as they defeated Worthing in the FA Trophy shows the quality of the team. Only 1 League defeat since the 1st November for the Tigers too.
DANGER MAN
Joking aside it has to be Ellis Watts. We all know what a great player he is with the ability to turn the game in a moment.
NEWS FOR HUNGERFORD
Reegan Messenger has left the club, but the new loan signings have added a sprinkling of excitement to the team.
GROUND
Gloucester City’s home ground is Meadow Park, located on Sudmeadow Road, Hempsted, Gloucester. It is currently known as the The KMM Energy Stadium for sponsorship reasons.
DID YOU KNOW
Gloucester began as a Roman fort in AD 64 and became an official Roman colony (Colonia Nervia Glevensium) in AD 97. I hate to mention Cricket when the Ashes are on but Alastair Cook despite being largely associated with Essex was born in Gloucester.
