Matt Berry-Hargreaves was last week offered his first professional contract by Oxford United following a successful 2 year scholarship.

Matt was part of the successful Academy team that reached the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup in 2015/16 losing in a replay to Forest Green Rovers. During this run he attracted interest from a number of professional clubs including Bristol City, Reading, Swindon and Oxford United. He also played for the First-Team at Hungerford in multiple cup competitions, scoring in the league cup away at Chippenham.

After a successful trial Oxford offered him a 2 year scholarship where he kicked on another level, successfully captaining the youth team in his 2nd year.

Matt hasn't forgot where he started and has been back to watch the First Team and Academy on a number of occasions. We are all extremely proud of Matt and his achievements and wish him every success in the game.

The Academy still has places available for current Year 11's or 12's for next season, the next football assessment is on Tuesday 3rd April, 10am to 12pm at Park House School 3G Pitch, Andover Road, Newbury, RG14 6NQ.
