Manager Bobby Wilkinson has slammed the door shut on Crawley Town's efforts to sign Ryan Crockford
Manager Bobby Wilkinson has put midfielder Ryan Crockford on contract and slammed the door on Crawley Town's prevarication over signing the former Reading youngster.
Crockford finally received an offer from the Blue Square Premier Club, but it was not good enough to tempt him from Bulpit Lane.
"To be honest, they've mucked him about," said Wilkinson. "We have now put him on contract and if they want to come back for him, they will have to talk to me first.
"He's a quality player and important to us," added Wilkinson. "We would not stand in his way if a bigger club came in, but it's not fair that he's messed about like this."
Crockford will be in a full-strength squad for Saturday's awkward trip to North Leigh, after which they go to Cirencester Town on Tuesday night for their delayed Red Insure League Cup tie.
