The weather was in fact brighter than the game and Hungerford soon found themselves one up thanks to Ryan Seager’s goal. It was a good finish inside the box after Sol Wanjau-Smith played him through. In truth Seager should have scored before this but blazed over with an easier chance. After the opening goal the game got a bit scrappy with long balls from both sides. James Blackman had a chance for Concord that was well over, and Luke Cairney also had to push a deflected shot over the bar. Neither keeper though had too much to do apart from avoid the sun getting their eyes.
The second half followed much the same pattern as the first with a good start from Hungerford where Myles Roberts pulled off a double save from Wanjau-Smith and Rhys Tyer early on. The game then fell into the same pattern with a series of long balls and long throws from both sides. Concord tried to push Hungerford back but it was nothing the home defence could not deal with as the defense remained rock solid
Hungerford held on for their fifth straight league win at home. Thats a NLS record for the Crusaders a fact that will live longer in the memory than the game itself
