This was another good performance and the players can be proud of a spirited come-back after being 2-0 down just after half-time to snatch the equaliser 5 minutes from the end.
The Beavers did the double over us last season, but we were denied when Sam Howes pulled off a great save to touch a free-kick from James Clark over the bar early on, but it was the visitors who took the lead after 21minutes when they were awarded a penalty which Max Ktetzschmar blasted past Lewis Ward.
A looping cross by Ian Herring was cut out by Howes, but at the other end, Ward saved well when he stopped a header from Harry Darling following a corner, and a cross from Ryan Moss was turned behind for a fruitless corner.
We were set to play up the slope after the interval and were soon two goals down, a terrific low shot from the impressive Oxford Utd loanee Malachi Napa leaving Ward helpless.
We did not give up however and were back in the game when James Clark volleyed home a cross from Nicholas Bignall who beat his man well on the left after 66 minutes and we battled hard thereafter as we saw the possibility of a point.
We were eventually rewarded after 85 minutes when Howes managed to keep out a cross from Stonehouse but Nicholas Bignall was there to nudge the ball into the net for a deserved equaliser, to the joy of the home supporters.
Brown then saw a header saved by Howes at the death after another excellent cross from Stonehouse, we maybhave even possibly nicked it at the death. But the supporters and players were delighted with a point.
