The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…
The good was certainly an impressive win over Dulwich Hamlet. The bad and the ugly could be found in the month’s other four matches - however, it’s important to remember the team had the same amount of points a year ago and still stayed up.

The high point?
The win over Dulwich was just what manager Ian Herring wanted. They’ll need more of that spirit going forward.

What about the rest in September?
Eastbourne. Oxford and Dulwich didn’t manage a win last month. Wealdstone fans are loving the new season and they may have ended September on top of the table, but the team of the month were Slough Town thanks to their four Vanarama National League South wins in a row. Three other sides were superb - Weymouth, Dorking and Braintree. They took ten points from a possible 12.

Hungerford’s star man…
Liam Ferdinand had a great month. Who could forget Matt Jones’ stunning goal at Dulwich?

Stat attack:
Has the standard increased this season in the Vanarama National League South? This time last year Hungerford also had eight points and a season on have a better goals difference - but were not in the bottom three.

How do things compare to last September?
Favourably! Last September wasn’t a good one for the club, losing four from four and scoring just two goals all month.

What does October look like?
With a much-needed weekend off on the horizon, Ian and the team can put their full focus into three important leagues games. Dorking away is first up on October 12 then it’s too big ones - Concord and fellow strugglers Hampton.
