A date for your diary is the 30th of July when Hungerford Town welcome The Robins to Bulpit Lane in the clubs marquee pre-season friendly. It’s the first time the two sides have ever met, and Lee Johnson’s Championship side should prove stern opposition for Bobby Wilkinson’s newly promoted Conference South side.

The Crusaders will definitely be looking to upset the big boys. There are no doubts that Bobby and the lads will want to put on a show for the fans against a side that is 4 tiers above them in the football league pyramid. This game will provide an excellent opportunity for the players to fight for that all-important starting XI spot when the season kicks off on August 6th away at East Thurrock.

Like Hungerford, Bristol City is a club keen to grow. Having just avoided relegation last season and with a new 27,000 revamped Ashton Gate to fill, Johnson will undoubtedly be looking to integrate new signings and youth players into his current first team before the start of the season. The game against Hungerford will provide a fantastic opportunity to do this.

Bristol City has some fantastic support home and away and you can expect to see plenty of fans down from the West Country for this game.
