Jarrard Welch had an early shot for Weston who made the livelier start and were soon pushing Hungerford back. However Hungerford slowly gained a foothold in the game and Danilo Orsi-Dadomo forced a low save from Luke Purnell before Darren Foxley failed to pounce on the rebound. Bradley Ash though he was through on goal for Weston but defender Marvel Expiteta came across to deny him a shot on goal. Chances were then few and far between and it was goal-less at half-time.
After the interval the game remained a cagey affair. Welch had a header saved on the stretch by Jacob Weaver and Hungerford substitute Conor Lynch then wriggled free but could only shoot at Purnell. The Crusaders then conceded a penalty when Weaver fouled Ash in the penalty area and the striker converted to give the Seagulls the lead. The hosts looked for an equaliser but failed to produce another clear cut chance and the Weston defence stood firm. Ash then had a chance to claim his second from the spot as Weaver again transgressed but the goalkeeper this time guessed right and saved the penalty. The game slowly petered out as Weston-Super-Mare comfortably held out to take all three points.
