Elis Watts poked in a late equaliser to earn a point for Hungerford in a game over shadowed by the bizarre sending off of manager Danny Robinson in the first half

Brad Hooper returned to the side but Joe Shepherd was still feeling the after effects of the appalling stamp incident the week before ruling him out with a rib injury

It was a slow start to the game with neither side making much initial impressions. Hungerford slowly started to turn the screw however and Ramarni Medford-Smith got the first shot in anger away that Hendon's keeper Kerbey managed to push wide.
Moments later Sam De St Croix put a through ball into the box and found Medford-Smith who this time smashed the ball past Kerbey to give Hungerford the lead.

After 30 minutes Hendon nearly got in at the far post via Kurtis Cumberbatch but Jack Stanley made a vital interception. Then with 5 minutes to go the main talking point of the half occurred. The ball was drifting out of play towards Hungerford’s bench and Danny Robinson was patrolling the technical area. He tried to stop the ball going out of the playing area but he didn’t control it and it ricocheted over the fence. The referee ran over brandishing a red card to everyone’s amazement. It appeared he thought Robinson had deliberately put the ball over the fence. A very harsh punishment for a small offence that’s rarely acted upon.

In first half injury time with Hungerford still a bit shell shocked with their managers dismissal Hendon grabbed an equaliser via a wonder strike from 25yards from Cumberbatch, albeit with a foul in the build up ignored

With Robinson literally sidelined form the game it was Stu Davis’ rip roaring team talk at half time to inspire the Crusaders who came out with a much more attacking impetus. Jack Wright smashed the ball against the post from a corner and Conor McDonagh tested Kerbey in the early exchanges of the half. The excellent Blaise Riley-Snow just about managing to keep Hendon on level terms with a superb shift for the home side

After 72 minutes Hendon took the lead when Dan Matsuzaka headed home a Riley-Snow free kick, it was against the run of play. Hungerford were still dangerous. With 10 minutes left McDonagh flashed a shot just wide with everyone including keeper Kerbey stood still watching it sail past the post. A minute later though Fabio Lopes seized the ball in midfield and sent Elis Watts clean though, the winger kept his composure to poke the ball past Kerbey into the net for the equaliser.

It was then only Hungerford who looked like scoring another goal but despite a late chance for Substitute Great Evans who fired a chance wide when better options were free in the centre, Hendon held out for a point
