The Crusaders were without Joe Shepherd for the trip to Devon but Matt Berry-Hargreaves made a return to the squad
It was Hungerford who started out looking the stronger team. After several early corners were just about delt with by the home side chances fell to Conor McDonagh, Elis Watts & Adulai Sambu in the first 20 minutes that were either saved by Parkway keeper Adam Parks or blocked by a defender when he was beaten. Parkway putting bodies on the line for the cause
As Parkway held out they started to get more of a grip of the game and Ryan Clark was forced into his first save on 20minutes after Ryan Lane got a shot away, but Hungerford still looked very dangerous on the break with Watts and Sambu causing issues.
In the 33rd minute however the home side opened the scoring with Jack Crago finding himself free in the six yard box to fire home a cross. Conor McDonagh thought he had broke free of the offside trap moments later to equalise especially as the rushed clearance had hit a defender in the build up but the flag was raised. Parkway then stunned Hungerford with two goals just before half time via Hall & Thompson. The latter seemed to have gone out of play in the build up to the goal but any protests Hungerford had were waved away.
Could Hungerford react in the second half was the question at half time and they did when on the hour Watts cut inside to rifle home from 20 yards. It was straight from kick off however when a mistake filled defence once more offered up freedom to Crago and he restored the three goal advantage.
Five minutes later Evans flicked on a corner to Sambu to drag the score back to 4-2 and Hungerford once more threaten an unlikely comeback. Watts hit a free kick that was well saved by Parks and McDonagh called Parks into action once more as the game approached the last ten minutes. However any unlikely thoughts of a comeback were put to bed by Parkway in the last 10 minutes when the fired in two more goals via Ryan Lane and Callum Hall against a weary looking Hungerford to win 6-2. A result that left many scratching their heads as to where it had come from Danny Robinson included
