Adulai Sambu had the first chance of the match after 10 minutes when he cut inside Hendon’s full back David Deidhiou but his goalbound shot was blocked
Hungerford took the lead in the 18th minute after some quick thinking from a Conor McDonagh throw by Joe Shepherd whose cross was then struck home by Sam De St Croix. On 26 minutes Watts took a free kick which was headed on by McDonagh but just evaded Jack Wright sliding in at the far post. De St Croix then almost setup Watts 5 minutes before half time but Watt’s shot was blocked. Right at the end of the half McDonagh had a shot well saved by Hendon keeper Matt Kerbey and Wright saw a header from a De St Croix cross also well saved by the Hendon keeper.
Hungerford really took control of the game in the second hale but it took them a while to secure the win.The game was won just after the hour when a Jack Alexander throw evaded everyone except for Shepherd who flicked it on for Wright to score on his Hungerford debut. Then two minutes later a great ball in from Hungerford captain Rhys Tyler was powered home by a tremendous Adulai Sambu header. This really wrapped up the points but Hungerford were keen to keep a clean sheet
Hendon almost spoiled the clean sheet by getting a goal back late on a Diedhiou header was tipped over the bar by Ryan Clarke from a corner. The three points and clean sheet were secured and Hungerford’s unbeaten home record continues
