Nick Harvey was cover in goal for the still injured Ryan Clarke but Sam De St Croix returned in midfield
Hungerford dominated the first half and created several chances that apart from two excellent saves from Truro keeper James Hamon and two ricochets off the crossbar they would have been in front from. Adulai Sambu got on the end of a Conor McDonagh ball along the six yard box to force a great stop from Hamon on 20 minutes. However the best of these chances was perhaps at the end of the half when Jack Wright powered a header from a Sam De St Croix corner goalward and it was somehow pushed off the line by Hamon to keep things level at the break.
The visitors did come more into the game at the start of the second half and Adam Portet had a shot that was well over. On the hour though Hungerford took a deserved lead when the midfield workhorse Joe Shepherd finished in the box after a knock down from Matt Berry-Hargreaves. Ten minutes later the lead was almost doubled when after a lovely move Shepherd setup Sambu but again it was Hamon with a good save.
Hungerford should have had a penalty in the last minute when Fabio Lopes got taken out in the box but the official waved away protests
Truro’s Hamon had no chance though in injury time when Great Evans run and powerful finish flew into the bottom corner off the post to secure the victory. A joyful Bulpit Lane enjoying the goal almost as much as Evans
