With Gosport Borough crying off, we were pleased to welcome Reading Town for another entertaining friendly and, although we had the edge for much of the game it needed three late goals to secure victory over the accomplished Hellenic League side.
We started playing some neat football and, although Lee Smith and Alan O’Brien looked dangerous, it was James Clarke who opened the scoring after 19 minutes, turning in a cross from Josh Parsons, who soon brought a great save from the Reading keeper before half-time. We made four substitutions early in the second half and continued to look dangerous, but the visitors were far from finished and equalised through a splendid goal from Carl Davies. midway through the half. However, Aaron Brown headed in after a corner had not been properly cleared with10 minutes to go, and a Harry Goodger header and a last minute Josh Parsons penalty completed the scoring .
