Just 2 points out of a possible 12 for Welling Utd

This Saturday, the Crusaders travel to South East London to visit Welling Utd, who have only managed 2 points out of a possible 12 in their four games this campaign. Both points coming from a 3-3 draw with Bognor Regis and their 0-0 with Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday night.

Hungerford, despite only have 4 points on the board this season, need to take the positives from their games. Coming into Saturday off the back of two successive 2-0 defeats to Hemel Hempstead and Oxford City, the Crusaders could have been out of sight in the first half of both games.

The Crusaders were again punished on Tuesday night for not taking their chances versus Oxford City in a lively game, Two slack goals conceded early in the second half saw Hungerford chasing the game with no success in front goal. There will also be a cause for concern as Luke Williams left the field of play with an apparent knee injury after colliding with his own player Callum Willmoth in the last minutes of the match.

Despite Welling only having 2 points on board so far, this will be, by no means a pushover, The Crusaders drew a stalemate in the March at Park View Road and narrowly snatched a 1-0 victory at home in November 16.

Welling have just announced the signings of three players ahead of our trip to Park View Road, 28 year old forward Lloyd Macklin, 21 year old Jack Jebb from Sutton United and 23 year old winger Jeffrey Monakana on loan from Sutton United. Macklin has had spells at Swindon Town, Torquay Utd & Basingstoke Town. Monakana made over 50 appearances for Preston North End as well as being at Arsenal, Brighton and Aberdeen among his previous clubs.

With Bignal, Day and Williams all on the injury list after 4 games, Wilkinson will be looking for his new look side to react from their defeat midweek and start taking their chances in front of goal.

Wellings results to date:

Truro 3 v 2 Welling
Welling 0 v 1 Chelmsford
Welling 3 v 3 Bognor Regis
Eastbourne 0 v 0 Welling
