Affectionately known as “Mr Hungerford”, Jack led and / or was involved in many organisations in the town including the Fire Brigade and serving as Town Mayor. He also played for and served as Chairman and President of our neighbours at Hungerford Cricket Club.
HTFC President Ron Tarry remembers Jack playing for the Crusaders in a Hungerford Challenge Cup Final win over Kintbury in the 1950s when the winning goal was scored by Ray “Chubber” Cox. They don’t make names like that anymore!
Our sincere condolences to Jack’s family and friends and RIP Jack, a true legend of Hungerford.
