The return of Adeyinka Talabi will give Banbury United a big boost, according to manager Edwin Stein.

Talabi has missed the last four games through injury but is expected to return for Saturday’s Calor League Southern clash at Weymouth.

Stein will be hoping the return of Talabi can help his side get back on track after consecutive defeats and says his players have been itching to get back into action to erase last week’s 8-0 hammering at Chesham United.

But Stein, like so many other managers, has been frustrated by the weather and knows there is only so much they can do without playing games.

“The players have been kicking their heels to get out there playing again and get that poor performance out of their system,” said Stein.

“We’re all hoping Saturday’s game goes ahead, Weymouth have a great ground and the pitch is excellent which will suit my players. We played them off the park down there last season but still lost 1-0.

“They played well against us up here after they changed their manager but I’m sure we can go there and get a good result, especially if Ade Talabi is back.

“He’s had a good break which has given him chance to get his back better and hopefully he will return refreshed and raring to go. He is a player who can have a big influence on games."
