On Saturday November 4th, an opening ceremony was held to open the new all seater football stand, new floodlights and supporters welfare facilities at Bulpit Lane.
2 weeks later and with all the facilities being tried and tested, it seems appropriate to reflect on the great efforts made to raise funds from 'zero to £60k' in order to pay for the new facilities.
This has all been achieved thanks to all the fabulous support from the following sources:
William R Asprey
HTFC Executive Committee
HTFC Community Committee
The HTFC Members
The Football Foundation
The just giving campaign and donators
West Berks Hungerford Councillors
HTFC Wonderful friends & Supporters
The Crusaders players, friends and family
Hungerford Town Council
The Good Exchange
A special thank you to William Asprey, of the Bond Street jewellery family for single handedly raising a 1/3 of the total fund. William Asprey, the son of the former chairman of Asprey, worked at Asprey & Garrard until 1999 before deciding to set up his own luxury goods shop called William R Asprey. His company name is now proudly represented above the East Stand.
As such, William was invited to cut the ribbon supported by Ron Tarry, Club President and HTFC Executive Committee representatives, Norman Matthews and Mike Hall with Dennis Gibby.
It is important to reflect on the management of the project as Norman Matthew's building development knowledge and Steve Skipworth's engineering acumen accompanied by many long hours have delivered the new facilities cost efficiently.
The club cannot however just sit on this remarkable achievement and is already planning a new set of infrastructure improvement targets,
