Here at Hungerford Town FC, we don't boast the biggest fan base, we don't always travel well, and our little town pales in comparison to that of some in the league we share
One thing that can never be questioned is our supporters love and dedication for our club. Showing up week in, week out is one thing. Stories of overnight shifts, followed by 2 hours sleep, waking up just so they can be on the bus travelling away on a soggy Saturday in October is sort of 'the norm'. So when you think "surely they can't really give anymore!?", they reflect on the struggling form, and in true Crusader spirit, go into solution mode. They don't sulk.
In a quiet corner of the clubhouse, a few deflated, but not defeated souls understand the results haven't been with us, approach Kevin Watson and Ian Herring and simply say "What if we can help?" And like that, the first ever Hungerford Town FC Supporters' Fund was born.
A fund thought of and created by the supporters
A fund that directly influences the playing budget
A fund that quite literally will impact the performances on the pitch.
Massive amounts of work have been done in the background to get this initiative off the ground in a matter of weeks and i can't do it justice here, so please read the full detail in the picture and consider if you can help. There is a target, it is achievable, so all contributions will make a difference.
There are contact details on the picture, and the supporters group will be in the clubhouse before and after the game against Billericay to talk through any queries and take on ideas you may have about how this fund works.
Thanks as always for the support and togetherness of our special club
