This time it's the FA Trophy

We will welcome Billericay Town to Bulpit Lane for the second time this season on Saturday this time in The Budweiser FA Trophy.

It was a 1-1 draw in September's FA Cup fixture, when Ricky Modeste cancelled out Stefan Brown's first half penalty to earn a replay. Billericay went on to win this comfortably 6-1 putting the Crusaders out of this seasons cup competition.

Billericay surprisingly lost to fellow Isthmian league team Leatherhead in another replay at home 3-1 in the 1st Round proper, which will now see Leatherhead travel to Wycombe Wanderers in the 2nd round for the first time in their history.

"Ricay" have had a tough schedule of late owing to their cup run and replays, and were again in action on Thursday night in the league cup finally winning on penalties, with fixtures coming thick and fast fitness will be put to the test on Saturday.

Since the last time Billericay were in Town, Millionaire Owner, Glen Tamplin has made some further acquisitions with the additions of Defender Dean Inman from Maidenhead Utd for a record fee of £26,700, former Arsenal and Southend midfielder Sanchez Watt and defender Joe Kizzi.

The big news coming out of Billericay this week however is the loss of Captain Paul Konchesky who announced on his Twitter that he was leaving the club https://twitter.com/konch3/status/933823991365668869

But with money no object, I am sure Tamplin will have further signings on the horizon.

The Crusaders are finding themselves in some unusual form currently, not recording a win at home since early September, this is not something our fans have been used to over recent years.

With an, already injury plagued team, two suspensions to add to the list this weekend leave the management to the bare bones. Diak John will now serve a 4 match suspension for his red card against Truro and Ian Herring has quickly accumulated 10 yellow cards and will serve a 2 match suspension.

With Rees (Fingers) Partridge (Hip) Willmoth (ACL) and Brown(Achilles) all out injured Boardman still insists the team is strong, but recognises we are week with cover. The likely addition of another Central Defender next week to come and with the management keeping an eye on Tom Meechan at St Neots hopefully our luck will change.

We will welcome Hungerford Junior's U8's this weekend who will provide a guard of honour for the players before kick off.
